About Poseidon Productions
Poseidon Pictures is a motion picture production company based in South Florida. Founded by the father-son team of Tom and Peter Alexander, the company is built on a foundation dating back to the Nickelodeon era, when Thomas Alexander AKA Athasios Alexpoulos immigrated from Greece near the turn of the 20th Century. After building his first small theatre, he grew a small empire of neighborhood theatres and even a grand movie palace in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His four sons and grandsons went into the business until their last theatre closed in 1988.
Tom Alexander moved into film production, radio and music production after his early days in the family’s theatre business. His son, Peter, is the fourth generation connected to cinema. Peter began his journey launching his first company, Argos-Global Pictures, and produced award-winning short films, including “The Centenarian,” “Walkin’ the Way,” and “The Last Weekend.” Poseidon was formed in conjunction with his father and a creative team of artists to continue the vision of storytelling in an exciting, dynamic way.
